Berry College Invited to Perform

Berry College’s music program performed at the Georgia Music Educators Association Conference recently in Athens, Georgia.

The conference features more than 130 workshops with renowned music professionals and more than 40 performances. Berry’s Tenor-Bass Choir was one of the programs invited to perform. The men’s choir is directed by Associate Professor of Music Paul Neal, who oversees Berry’s choral program.

“Performing at GMEA was truly a long-time goal achieved for me and being a part of the Berry men’s choir while doing so made it so much more fulfilling,” freshman Davis Henson said. “I couldn’t have hoped for a better group of guys to come along side of and make great sounding music with for this event!”

The mission of the association is to promote advancement of music education in Georgia. Besides the annual conference, they provide state-wide evaluations for students enrolled in elementary, middle or high school music programs. The organization also advocates regularly for the funding and provision of Georgia’s public and private schools.
