Solidarity Week Keynote Speaker

“You may not have chosen your surroundings, but you can choose to find life in them,” says Instagram influencer Morgan Harper Nichols.

Nichols, an artist, poet and musician, will speak at Berry College as part of Solidarity Week. The week-long conference aims to acknowledge, educate, and celebrate the diversity in the Berry community. The event is open to the public and begins at 6 p.m. Sept. 19 in the Krannert Ballroom.

Nicols, who creates art and poetry based on anonymously submitted stories, has captivated the hearts of 1.9 million Instagram followers and has been featured in Target, TJ Maxx, Anthropologie, and more. She also has partnerships through Coach, Aerie, and Hallmark. She says her art helps her community put words to their emotions and stories that tend to be harder to express. She creates graphics that are shared through her app, The Storyteller Co., as well as her shop, Garden24, which displays her art as print, stickers, notebooks, mugs and more.
