Student podcast receives national recognition

The Broadcast Education Association’s Festival of Media Arts has recognized the Berry College student podcast “Seth's Spins” with an Award of Excellence.

Seth Chambliss, creative director of “Seth's Spins” and a Berry communication major from Chickamauga, Ga., said "podcasting has allowed me the opportunity to grow closer with my friends and colleagues, while also helping me to develop my audio production skills."

Over 1,300 student and faculty pieces were submitted in this year's competition. Other schools recognized in the specialty programs and podcasts category included Arizona State University and West Virginia University. "Seth's Spins" is a production of Viking Fusion, a student-run multimedia website that serves as a platform for student productions to inform and entertain the Berry student community and the public.

“I’m really proud that our work is reaching new heights and new audiences, especially with our podcasting,” said Zoe Robinson, executive director of Viking Fusion and communication major from Cumming, Ga.
