Berry College Symphony Orchestra Concert

The Berry College Symphony Orchestra will perform at 7:30 p.m. (Tuesday) Nov. 5 in the College Chapel at Berry.

Conducted by the Berry College Symphony Orchestra Director Eric Hanson, the orchestra will perform Brook Green Suite by Gustav Holst, Horn Concerto No. 2 by Joseph Haydn and Symphony No. 9 by Wolfgang Mozart. Throughout the concert Hanson will explain the significance of the composers and the selected repertoire.  

Special guest Neil Kimel will accompany the orchestra on French horn during Horn Concerto No. 2. Kimel has played in the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Fla., Chicago’s Grant Park Orchestra, the Sarasota Opera Orchestra and many more. He is the recipient of the C.D. Jackson Memorial Prize and the Harry Shapiro Award for Outstanding Brass Playing.

Kimel has also played for a Broadway show in New York and has recorded numerous commercial jingles. He is a professor of horn at DePaul University.

This event is free and open to the public.
