Juried Art Exhibit Opens Feb. 12 at Moon Gallery

The Berry College Moon Gallery will showcase the juried exhibit "Gift" Feb. 12 through Mar. 9.

"Gift" is the result of an open call for artists to submit work from across the country. The type of work (painting, mixed media, ceramics, and so on) mirrors the type of work made in Berry's art program. Jordan Amirkhani, who selected the work to be included in the show, is a cultural critic who writes about contemporary art/culture and teaches at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The title for the show references Lewis Hyde’s book "The Gift."

“The intent was artists who connected with those ideas in the book would submit work for the show,” said Berry College Associate Professor of Art Brad Adams.

The exhibit is free and open to the public 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with the juror's (Amirkhani) talk and reception at 5 p.m. on Feb. 19.
