Berry Grad Teaching in Austria

Recent Berry College graduate Megan Petrovich is teaching across the Atlantic.

Petrovich, who is from Woodstock, Ga., recently accepted an English Teaching Assistantship in Vienna, where she will spend the next year until beginning graduate school there. She graduated in May with a bachelor of arts degree in German.

The Austrian Fulbright Program is one of 51 branches worldwide of the Fulbright Commission, which currently facilitates the exchange of students and scholars between the United States and 155 countries. In addition to serving as valuable linguistic models in classroom English instruction, U.S. English teaching assistants are informal representatives of the United States. They contribute substantially to the promotion of mutual understanding between the peoples of the United States of America and the Republic of Austria.

“I have to thank Berry for giving me the drive to achieve these feats, because I know other institutions would not have helped me develop a love for hard work and learning like Berry did. I hope to take these cherished memories and skills with me into the future to achieve more goals with my head, heart and hands," Petrovich said.
