Berry Student Newspaper Earns Georgia Journalism Awards

The Berry College student newspaper, The Campus Carrier, earned eight awards for journalism excellence in this year’s Georgia College Press Association Better Newspaper Contest.

Editor Rachel Yeates said, “I'm so proud of the dedication and hard work our staff puts in every week. While we do what we do for the Berry community, it's always nice to have our work recognized by others."

The Carrier staff competed against colleges and universities with enrollments less than 8,000. They received two first places wards, two second place and two third place. Student Bailey Albertson earned second place for “Best Sports Photograph.”

Kevin Kleine, senior lecturer of journalism and student publications adviser, said, "Berry student journalists are among the best anywhere and provide the campus community with content that matters."
