Education Professor Earns Global Excellence Award

Director of ESOL and Associate Professor of Teacher Education Chang Pu was recently selected for the 2022 Global Excellence Award by the Association of Independent Liberal Arts College for Teacher Education. The purpose of this award is to recognize the excellence of a global and/or international teacher education faculty and/or program which encompasses the range of global and international education.

Working with teacher education faculty in other countries, Dr. Pu integrated virtual exchange projects into her teacher education courses and provided teacher candidates first-hand experiences to work with fellow teacher candidates from different cultures on teaching-related projects (e.g., lesson planning, micro-teaching) to develop global competent teaching. Her work was discussed in her co-authored article with Dr. Minda Lopez (Texas State University): “Infusing Global Perspectives into Teacher Education: A self-study from Texas and Georgia”, which was included in the book "People-Centered Approaches Toward the Internationalization of Higher Education."

Dr. Pu was named a Longview Foundation Global Teacher Educator fellow in 2019-2020.
