FAQ - Visit Berry

PLANNING A VISIT

You can plan your campus visit online from the VISIT BERRY page, which includes information about upcoming events as well as our other visit opportunities. Look for the Daily Visits and Viking Visit Day sections to schedule your visit on a weekday or an open Saturday. You'll be directed to a calendar portal where you can select the date you'd like to visit, register for an open visit appointment and receive an immediate confirmation. After you complete the online registration, you'll also have the opportunity to personalize your visit by requesting a meeting with a professor or other campus partner – check your confirmation email for additional information! If you have any questions, you can call our office at 800.237.7942 or email campusvisits@berry.edu and we’ll be happy to help you.

If you are interested in one of our larger events, specific Event FAQs can be found for Preview Day, Decision Berry and Berry Bound on the individual event page. We look forward to seeing you on campus soon!

PREPARING FOR YOUR VISIT

Driving directions to Berry are available online. When you arrive, enter Berry through the main entrance on Martha Berry Hwy. As a guest, you will be asked to stop at the Welcome Center. Please watch for signs and be prepared to provide identification.

Visitor parking is free at Berry and no visitor parking passes are needed. Please check your confirmation email after registering for more details on where check-in and parking will be for your specific campus visit.

Our typical campus visit experience lasts about 1.5 - 2 hours.

Our campus visit includes an information session with an admission representative and a tour of our main campus with current students.

Our information session introduces you to Berry’s educational philosophy, our academic offerings and student life. Our admission representative will offer information on admission requirements and procedures, tuition and fees and scholarship opportunities; an overview of the financial aid application process; and answers to your questions. The session typically lasts 30 minutes and you will receive a folder with additional information to take home.

Our campus tour is tailored to give you information on current academic and student life. Our tour guides will introduce you to some of Berry’s history and show you around our main campus, including our student center, athletic center, select academic buildings and one first-year residence hall. If you would like to see other areas of our campus, such as Mountain Campus, we will be happy to offer you a campus map and directions. Visiting select sites on our campus may require advanced arrangements.

Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.

You should bring some paper for note taking, a camera for photos and a good list of questions. We do not require students to dress formally for campus visits or to bring portfolios of their work.

High school seniors and juniors or transfer students are invited to request a meeting with a faculty member or a class observation in your intended area of study. After you register for a daily visit, check your confirmation email for additional details on how to request a meeting or class observation.

Note: Faculty meetings and class observations may not be available at all times during the semesters. A two to three week notice is encouraged so we can do our best to accommodate you on your visit.

When planning your campus visit, please let us know of any special requests you may have so we can either make arrangements or direct you to the appropriate individuals.

Please notify us if you or another guest with you has a disability or other special circumstance that will require our assistance during the visit. We prefer advanced notice so we can prepare for your visit!

We welcome high school seniors or transfer students to meet with a professor in the major field they’re considering. Please let us know if you’re interested in this option so we can make arrangements with the professor for the day you’re visiting.

If you are not a high school senior or transfer (or if you just prefer to call or email a professor), our representative in the Admission Office will be happy to provide you with contact information during your campus visit.

Seniors and transfer students have the option to schedule an interview with an admission counselor should they desire.  Interviews are not a required piece of the application to Berry College, but give students the opportunity to meet with a counselor one-on-one and give a more personal touch to their application profile.  If seniors or transfer students would like to request an interview, they can do so while registering for their campus visit or by calling the Office of Admission directly.

The information session during the Admission visit offers an overview of financial aid, but specific or personal questions can also be addressed one-on-one with one of our admission counselors. If you would like to meet individually with an admission counselor during your visit, please let us know while registering for your visit. If you have more in-depth questions that our counselors are not able to address, they will be able to help connect you with someone in our Office of Financial Aid to make sure that all of your questions are answered.
