Shanna Y. Pressley

Shanna Pressley is a Clinical Coordinator and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Physician Associate Program. Shanna Pressley earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology at Lincoln Memorial University in 1993 and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at The George Washington University in Washington D.C. In 1999. She is presently working on her Doctor of Medical Science with a focus on PA education at Lincoln Memorial University, with expected completion in August 2024.

Shanna Pressley has been a clinical practicing PA since 1999.  She has a broad range of experience practicing in Primary Care, Urgent Care, Abdominal Transplant surgery, Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, and Hospital Internal Medicine. She also worked to provide free medical care to underserved and uninsured populations in Western North Carolina and Southwest Virginia, and she believes the PA profession is critical to address the needs of underserved communities.

In 2020, Shanna Pressley began her career in PA education at Emory and Henry School of Health Sciences. There she was the course director for all Clinical Medicine Courses and served as Course Director for Clinical Skills I. During her time at Emory and Henry, she also precepted PA students in the Mel Leaman Free Clinic in Marion, Virginia. She has a passion for both Hospital Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine topics, which she enjoys teaching most of all.

In 2023, Professor Pressley was voted Faculty of the Year by the graduating class for her work at Emory and Henry.  She has enjoyed a long and successful career as a PA, and her desire is to help students realize their dream of becoming a PA.  She recognizes the hard work, dedication, and compassion necessary to provide quality patient care, and she hopes to instill these values in her future students at Berry College.
